Field of Dreams

Nothing like a little more baseball, even when you're not playing baseball.  R and his team had a really cool opportunity at a Bee's game.  They were introduced as a team and then got to introduce themselves and tell their position.  Then they ran to their position on the field and waited for the Bee's players to be introduced and come out.  So R got to stand on 1st base with #16 of the Bee's during the National Anthem and exchange a few words before and after the song.  It was cool to see him out there.  I loved the smile on his face and how proud he looked as he played 1st for a few minutes.

Hoping for a foul ball.

T actually came home with 2 foul balls after he and Larry went out to the parking lot to chase them.
Long night, fun game but the Bee's couldn't pull out the win.

Fundraiser

Saturday we attended a fundraiser for a boy in our neighborhood who was diagnosed with bone cancer.  This was not your average fundraiser, it was awesome and I know more work went into that than many people will ever know.  There were so many fun activities, a photographer, a special walk, different booths, and entertainment.  A was part of that entertainment with her dance co.  There were also several different mascots you could get pictures with.  Here we are with Cosmo and some of the Cheerleaders.  The boys loved Cosmo and A was excited about the Cheerleaders.  L didn't really like Cosmo as you can see in the picture.

I look like the stranger that jumped into someone else's picture.

Here is A performing one of her recital dances.

I'm glad we could be a part of a really neat day!  Huge thanks to those that put it all together.

All Star Baseball

T was selected for one of the 3 All Star teams this year.  He is such a great player and really know the game better than many kids his age because he plays all the time with R and his friends and even older cousins.  He's not the biggest kid on the team so I like to hear everyone's surprise when he makes a great play or hits the ball way out in the field.

His team was made up of some us his regular season team mates and then a few from other teams.  And of course the head coach was awesome.  We are a little biased but Larry really is a very good coach.  I think he (Larry) was ready for the season to be over but had fun with the boys.

This is T making a play at 2nd.

Nice job T, we love to watch you play!

Parade, Carnaval and End of Regular B-Ball Season

The kids always look forward to the carnival coming to town.  It's nothing big or fancy but they love it.  On Saturday morning we have a parade, a small town parade, but again, the kids love it.  Everyone throws candy off the floats or out of the cars and people hand out stickers and sometimes water bottles or t-shirts.  This year A got to be in the parade with her dance company!  She was so excited to wear her recital costume again and ride on a trailer.  I think what made her even more excited was that SHE got to throw the candy.
Here are R and some friends waiting for it to start.

Here is A as she went by in the parade.

After the parade we headed up to the carnival for a fun couple of hours.

After a couple of hours of over priced carnival rides  fun rides, we couldn't end the day without some baseball.  T's final regular season game ended in a scrimmage.  The other team didn't have enough players so they had to forfeit and some of our team helped them out and everyone played for fun.  After the game, the boys got their trophies and a ball signed by the team.  They finished in 3rd place which means that Larry gets to coach an All Star team.  So........ baseball for T is not officially over, yet.

Wasatch Back Relay

Larry was asked (kinda last minute) to join a team that was running a relay from Logan to Park City.  He finally said yes, after a little coaxing from me.  What is funny is that I wanted to run this relay 6 years ago and everyone looked at me like a was a little crazy.  Back then not many people had heard of it, but now everyone wants to do it.  I loved hearing all the fun stories when he came home and I'm glad he had a good time.  He just told some others that he would run again next year and this time he would actually get to train for it!  He won't say it was FUN yet, but he says it was "quite an adventure."

After his first "leg" of the race.

He wore this organ donation ribbon on his back to recognize the 16th anniversary of the kidney transplant
between he and his sister which was a couple days before.

End of 2010-2011 School Year

We finally made it to the end of the school year!  Actually that was a few weeks ago, but we are still excited and are just beginning to enjoy some summer weather, so NOW it really feels like summer.  Here are some end of the year activities.

First A finished pre-school!!!  She is so excited to go to Kindergarten.  At her little program they sang a few songs and did some fun activities to show us some things they have learned.  (Her teacher is awesome and she now reads and writes so well and is ready to go with the boys to school.)  Nice job A , we are proud of you.

About a week later the boys finished up.
T's awards ceremony.  He received his High Flying Hawk Award.

T is showing us his portfolio back in his classroom

A couple hours later R had his awards ceremony.  Here is his class.

I don't know what to do with my poor camera and the bad lighting.  R is in the middle.

With a couple of buddies.

With his AWESOME teacher!

Then there was the dance festival.  Each grade does a dance from a different decade.  T did the twist and 1st grade wore their class t-shirts.  T's class is in the green.

He looks SO excited to be out there.

R's grade had the 1970's.  They dressed the part and danced to several different songs.

And finally, the Mustang from the HS came to visit at lunch and help handout popsicles to A track since it was their last week of school. (Year round school is interesting.  The other 3 tracks are done a few weeks later.)

Cute pictures

Yesterday was such a beautiful day.  L has FINALLY found the courage to start walking.  She is 15 months old and I'm so excited.  I know you aren't supposed to wish you kids life forward but I'm really happy she is walking a little more than she is crawling.  I think the floor is gross and dirty and with her hands all over the floor and then in her mouth, it grosses me out.  I am constantly washing her hands off.

But walking in grass is a little harder than walking on the smooth floor.  So here are some pictures of her outside trying to walk outside in the grass.

This one is one of my favorites because I loved her shadow with her little pony tail on top!
